Abstract:Let MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif denote the set of Liouville numbers. For a dimension function h, we write MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb2.gif(MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif) for the h-dimensional Hausdorff measure of MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif. In this paper we locate the exact ldquocut-pointrdquo at which the Hausdorff measure of MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif drops from infinity to zero. Namely, if h is a dimension function that increases faster than any power function near 0, then MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb2.gif(MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif)=infin, and if h is a dimension function that increases slower than some power function near 0, then MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb2.gif(MediaObjects/s00229-004-0528-zflb1.gif)=0.
