Abstract:This paper is a review of studies on the motion of solid particles in perfect and viscous liquids under the action of time-average forces caused by an acoustic field. Emphasis is on studies that employed a method based on solving the hydromechanic equations for a compressible liquid and evaluating and averaging the forces acting on particles
