| Abstract: | The electromagnetic backscattering from the agriculture context is discussed based on the radiative transfer theory. The crop is modeled as a two layered medium composed of a random rough ground and a vegetation layer which is treated as a collection of randomly distributed discrete scatterers. The parameters of the model are directly related to the physical parameters of the crop and the ground. The backscattering coeffcients are obtained from the iterative solutions of the radiative transfer equation. The calculated results are in close agreement with the existing experimental ones. |
