提出一种以平面和一般参数曲面作为中间曲面的局部纹理映射方法，与传统的纹理映射方法相比，不仅能准确地确定纹理贴图的位置，而且可以灵活地改变贴图区域的大小，增加了纹理映射的应用范围，减小了纹理映射中的图案变形。

A New Method for Regional Texture Mapping Based on Optimal Intermediate Surfaces

This paper presents a new regional texture mapping method based on classical two part texture mapping techniques. According to the geometry of target surfaces, an optimal intermediate surface is determined, and the texture pattern is embedded in 3 space on the surface, then the pattern is projected onto any specific region of the target surface in a way. Compared with the traditional texture mapping, the proposed method has some advantages because the position and size of texture pattern on the surface can be easily located and modified, and the texture pattern distortion in texture mapping can also be reduced.
