Free radical reactions of carbohydrate derivatives in the synthesis of carbocyclic compounds

Abstract:The benzyloxy group at C(4) of the pyranose ring in 3,4-disubstituted and 3-deoxy carbohydrate derivatives affects the direction of intramolecular free-radical C(2)-C(6) cyclization.
