| Abstract: | A stereo-selective reaction for the synthesis of cis-alkenes/halo-alkenes from diphenylmethane and ethynylbenzenes was developed in the presence of iron(III) bromide or chloride. Alkenyl bromides/chlorides were obtained in comparatively good yields in chlorobenzene under mild reaction conditions. |
