Abstract: | By the direct numerical integration of the complete set of the Navier-Stokes equations, it is found that the minimum kinetic energy dissipation principle, or the Helmholtz principle, is realized in some internal flows of a viscous fluid. Studies are conducted for the Reynolds numbers from 2 to 20. A class of problems where this principle takes place is considered. |
