A continuum analogue of the lattice gas

Abstract:We construct a Hilbert space hamilt, spanned by vectors 
$$\left| {\cal O} \right\rangle $$
, where 
$${\cal O}$$
is a bounded measurable set in Ropfv (ngr=dimension of space), and interpret 
$$\left| {\cal O} \right\rangle $$
as at state where all pointsxisin 
$${\cal O}$$
are occupied by an incompressible fluid, andxnotin 
$${\cal O}$$
unoccupied. hamilt is generated by applying unitary ldquofilling operatorsrdquoU( 
$${\cal O}$$
) to a cyclic vector |phgrrang, the completely unoccupied state. The operatorsU( 
$${\cal O}$$
) generate a commutativec*-algebra, of which the hermitian elements are interpreted as the observables of the theory.All the infin-divisible representations of the symmetric group of order 2 are found. We give a generalization to a theory with any number of particle types.
