Abstract: | Temperature-dependent transmission Mössbauer spectroscopy was used to determine the Debye-Waller factors and hyperfine interaction parameters of the Fe(II) spin crossover complexes: Fe(phen)2(NCS)2, Fe(bipy)2(NCS)2 and Fe(py)2phen(NCS)2, and also the non-crossover system Fe(py)4(NCS)2. In the spin conversion systems, thef LS is higher than thef HS, which indicates different lattice dynamical properties at the metal sites in the1A1 and5T2 configurations, and is discussed in relation to the metal-ligand bonding interactions in the two spin states. |
