| Abstract: | Synthesis of linear polyphosphonates and polyphosphonamides is achieved by polycondensation in solution of aromatic diols and diamines with alkyldiphosphonyl tetrachlorides, in the presence of a hydrochloric acid trapping agent (triethylamine). The main limiting factors for chain growth are the insolubility of the polymers and the occurrence of side reactions. |
