| Abstract: | The radical polymerization of ethylene has been performed in the presence of nitrogen. The structural characteristics of polymers prepared with 0–25 weight % of nitrogen at 1,200 atm were determined by usual solution methods (viscometry, GPC) and by infrared spectroscopy. The experimental results show that, when the demixing in two phases appears, long chain branching decreases and unsaturation increases. |
