Generation of 1O2 from O2 quenching of the lowest excited singlet and triplet states of 9,10-diphenylanthracene

Abstract:Measurements of the quantum yield for photoperoxidation of 9,10-diphenylanthracene as a function of dissolved oxygen concentration in toluene at 20°C. are consistent with generation of 1O2 from both the lowest singlet and triplet states of the hydrocarbon.
