| Abstract: | Good agreement with the experimental structure and with the observed lattice frequencies of crystalline CS2 is obtained using an intermolecular potential consisting of an electrostatic part and of an anisotropic atom-atom potential. The role of anisotropic short-range interactions in the statics and dynamics of linear-molecule crystals is discussed. |
