| Abstract: | The phosphorescence spectra, ODMR, and triplet sublevel kinetics are reported for the thioketones, 4H-pyran-4-thione (PT) and 2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran-4-thione (DMPT). Extremely large ZFS parameters,D = ?24, and ?28 cm?1, are assigned to two distinct trap sites of PT in n-pentane and D = ?24 cm?1 for the major site of DMPT in n-hexane. |
