在简要介绍发达国家对图书馆馆员进行继续教育的状况与方式的基础上。论述了图书馆馆员继续教育的重要性及继续教育的内容与方式，指出借鉴国外先进国家开展图书馆员继续教育的经验，制定科学合理的人才培养计划，采取有效的措施和途径。大量的复合型人才的出现一定会提升图书馆的服务。

Continuous Education of the Librarians in 21st Century

Based on the brief introduction to the situations and methods of conducting the continuous education for the librarians in the developed countries, this paper discusses on the importance of conducting the continuous education for the librarians and the contents and models of the continuous education, and points out that through borrowing ideas of conducting the continuous education for the librarians from the foreign advanced countries, working out the scientific and rational talents training plan, adopting effective measures and channels, and culturing mass compound type talents, the service of the library can certainly be improved.
