Abstract: | Analytical applications of a new solid reagent tris(2,2′-dipyridyl)iron(II) tetraphenylborate are described. The solid reagent selectively reacts with Ag(I), Tl(I), and Hg(II) cations to release the colored tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)iron(II) cation in solution, which is determined spectrophotometrically. The experimental data show that the Ag(I), Tl(I), and Hg(II) cations respond linearly in 5 to 50-ppm range. |
