Abstract: | Direct excitation of overtone vibrations in combination with near-infrared fluorescence detection provides collisional relaxation rate constants for HF(v = 3,4) by HF, CH4 and CD4. Observing fluorescence from a few rotational levels shows that the rotational manifold in HF(v = 4) equilibrates in about half the gas kinetic collision time. |
