摘    要:为减小彩色等离子体显示器(PDP)的闪烁,在分析PDP闪烁的主要原因是固定位置的高亮度输出和子场间强烈亮度差的基础上,根据闪烁理论和亮度的脑电图响应模型,提出了用闪烁指数评价PDP闪烁的新方法.该方法认为闪烁主要是由直流亮度分量上叠加的基频亮度分量引起的,因此定义闪烁指数为基频分量和直流分量平方和的正平方根之比.对闪烁指数的仿真计算结果表明:增加子场数目、主要权重子场的对称选取及它们在一帧中的均匀交错分布都会使闪烁指数减小.根据图像的灰度区间选择适当的子场顺序,可以进一步优化闪烁。

Flicker Index Method for Evaluating Flicker in Color Plasma Display Panel
Abstract:In order to reduce flicker in color plasma display panel (PDP), the highly peaked light output at certain situations and strong luminance difference among subfields that causes flicker in PDP was analyzed. Based on flicker theory and electroencephalograph response model for luminance, the flicker index method was developed to evaluate flicker in PDP. It was considered in the present method that flicker is mainly caused by the fundamental frequency component of luminance superimposed on the DC-component of luminance. Therefore sum of square of the two components were computed respectively, and flicker index was the ratio between the positive square roots of the sums. The calculation results of flicker index indicate that increasing the number of subfields, symmetrical choice and homogeneous interlaced distribution of major weight subfields can reduce flicker effectively. Flicker can be optimized further by choosing the suitable subfield order according to gray scale region of image.
