| Abstract: | Three and five beams were observed to emerge with angular symmetry from Rogowski- profile solid electrode TEA CO2 lasers. A simple geometrical optics theory of the external reflection guided-modes within the rectangular cavity formed by the laser mirrors and electrodes has successfully accounted for the number and angular separation of these multiple beams, and has established criteria for their elimination. |
