Photoreaktionen von Iminiumsalzen mit Methanol und mit Formamid

By irradiation in methanol at ～250 nm of iminium salts, e.g. cyclohexylidene-pyrrolidinium perchlorate ( 1 ), in the absence of oxygen and in the presence of benzophenone as sensitizer, good yields of methanol addition products to the C,N-double bond (e.g. 8 ) could be obtained. These can be classed as β-amino-alcohol derivatives.
