Die Koordinationstendenz des Murexid-Ions

The stability constants of the murexide complexes with various metal ions were determined spectrophotometrically. The coordination tendencies of the tridentate ligands iminodiacetate, dipicolinate and murexide are compared. In terms of basicity and charge, the murexide complexes exhibit a stability which is remarkably high and most of all pronounced with A-metal ions. The possible reason for this fact is discussed.
