The Response of a Rectangular Sink to Random Excitation due to Ground Movement |

| Abstract: | The orthogonality relation of the wet modes of a rectangular
sink is discussed. Based on the expansion of the wet modes, the instantaneous response to the
excitation due to ground movement is calculated. With the realization of the decoupling of the
generalized coordinates, the elastically coupled system is reduced to a problem of one degree of
freedom. |
