On Chalcogenolates. 178. Studies on Copper(I) Ethyl Xanthate Yellow CuS₂C? OC₂H₅] has been prepared by two different methods. In contrast to earlier observations it is not soluble in ethanolic solutions containing S₂C? OC₂H₅]^? ions in excess. CuS₂C? OC₂H₅] reacts with CS₃^2? ions to form Cu(CS₃)]^?. The compounds (C₆H₅)₄E]Cu(CS₃)] with E = P, As have been isolated.
