Abstract: | Complexes with Substituted 2,5-Dihydroxy-p-benzochinones: EAC6(C6H5)2O4 · 4 H2O (EA = Sr2+, Ba2+) Single crystals of the isotypic compounds EAC6(C6H5)2O4 · 4 H2O were grown in aqueous silicagel. EA2+ has CN 8. It is surrounded by four water molecules and four oxygen atoms of the bis-chelating polyporate dianions. Thereby folded chains are formed which are interlinked by hydrogen bonds. Thus building up corrugated layers with the phenyl substituents almost perpendicular to the layer plane. The layer stacking provides that they can engage into another. |
