Dynamical Effects of Gravitational Shock Waves

Gravitational shock waves are defined in the framework of space-times with distribution-valued curvature tensors. Then different kinds of motion in the presence of a gravitational shock wave are investigated. In an earlier paper the same investigation was carried out for an ordinary gravitational discontinuity wave. Discontinuity effects due to gravitational shock waves are compared to those due to ordinary waves.
