| Abstract: | Summary. A simple and efficient synthesis of the hitherto unreported ring systems pyrano3,2-f]quinolin-2(7H)-one and furo3,2-f]quinolin-2-one was accomplished via a thermal 3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement.
