Abstract: | The results of measurements of the thermopower and the electrochemical potential jumps of zirconium hydrides in relation to temperature (100–400°K) and concentration are given. The results are discussed on the assumption that the density of electronic states passes through a maximum as the hydrogen content of the hydrides varies. It is concluded that some of the hydrogen atoms are positively ionized when hydrogen is incorporated in the metal lattice.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 9, pp. 60–63, September, 1974. |
