Abstract: | We present a thermomechanical model describing hydrogen storage by use of metal hydrides. The problem is considered as a phase transition phenomenon. The model is recovered by continuum mechanics laws, using a generalization of the principle of virtual power accounting for microscopic movements related to the phase transition. The resulting nonlinear PDE system is investigated from the point of view of existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions. |
