Reduktion 4-substituierter Acetophenone mittels Hefe

Abstract:The velocity of reduction of 4-substituted acetophenones by baker's yeast is decreased by electron donating substituents. The steric course, however, is little influenced and (S)-1-arylethanols2 are generally formed with over 90% enantiomeric excess.
