| Abstract: | On account of the pressing need for PE teachers in elementary and secondary schools in the rural areas, the paper maintains that resolute reforms must be carried out in PE teacher education to produce a large number of competent PE teachers for those rural schools. To this end, a new PE teaching mode has to be promoted, which is an organic combination of PE as a compulsory course and as an optional course, extracurricular sports activities, and practice in PE teaching. |
