| Abstract: | The scattered-light method is applied to plane-stress problems. The study gives significance to the fringe spacing perpendicular as well as parallel to the direction of light propagation. The results show that one full-field photograph is sufficient to determine the state of stress in the model as well as to calibrate the model material. Results for the case of a ring in diametrical compression are presented. |
