Highly sensitive redox-photometric determination of selenite and iodide ions in mineral waters

Abstract:The use of two-phase reactions involving the antimony(V) hexachloride complex was proposed for the redox-photometric determination of selenite and iodide ions in some potable mineral waters with detection limits of 5 × 10?5 and 3 × 10?5 mg/L, respectively. The procedures exhibit a high selectivity and reproducibility and do not require lacking reagents and expensive instrumentation. The relative standard deviation is no higher than 20%.
