| Abstract: | This note presents a model equation which describes nonlinear evolution of finite amplitude drift waves in a non-uniform plasma. Significant nonlinearities originate from the ion polarization drift and the electron temperature gradient. Modulational instability and possible final state of unstable drift waves are investigated. |
