Abstract: | Liquid clathrates have been prepared via contact of excess hydrogen halide (chloride or bromide) with benzene solutions of various simple organic nitrogen containing bases. The liquid clathrates or solutions so formed have been characterized via1H NMR and shown to be, as expected, ternary mixtures of hydrogen halide, benzene and salt. |
