Abstract: | The correlation energy of disordered systems has been calculated by means of second-order Rayleigh-Schrödinger perturbation theory in the M?ller-Plesset partitioning. Rings of hydrogen atoms have been chosen as model systems and the degree of disorder has been varied from complete delocalization to complete localization of the one-particle states. The correlation energy was found to have an extremum at an intermediate degree of disorder, corresponding to incomplete localization. |
