| Abstract: | Longitudinal and transverse phonon frequencies in superionic (AgI)x(AgPO3)1?x glasses for x = 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 have been measured by Brillouin scattering. The hypersonic velocities as a function of temperature were determined along with the elastic constants. The velocity data extrapolate linearly to those of α-AgI in support of a local cluster model. |
