| Abstract: | Allylic oxidation of apocholic acid and some of its derivatives by N-bromosuccinimide in the presence of water and a base is regiospecific leading to 15-keto or 15-hydroxy compounds, depending upon the experimental conditions and the nature of the substrate. |
