Synthesis in the diazasteroid group VIII. Synthetic studies of the 14,17-diazasteroid system |

| Abstract: | Two synthetic routes leading to the 14,17-diazasteroid system have been developed. One of these gives 14,17-diazagona-1,3,5(10),6,8,9,11,13(17)heptaene (V), prepared from benzof]quinolin-3(4H)one (I) and ethanolamine. The other route gives 14,17-diazagona-1,3,5(10),8,12-heptaen-11-one (XVIa) via the reaction of 2-tetralone with ethyl 2-imidazolidinylidenacetate (IXa). |
