| Abstract: | Conclusions Our results confirm those of others [4, 5] suggesting the presence of natural antibodies (autoantibodies) in the serum of nearly 100% of apparently healthy subjects as well in sera from IDDM patients. Since overlapping of the values found for both groups is common for the antigens tested here, none of the specific autoantibody populations can serve as a diabetes-specific disease marker.
