Abstract:A Kakeya set in the linear representation urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0005, urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0006 a nonsingular conic, is the point set covered by a set of urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0007 lines, one through each point of urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0008. In this article, we classify the small Kakeya sets in urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0009. The smallest Kakeya sets have size urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0010, and all Kakeya sets with weight less than urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0011 are classified: there are approximately urn:x-wiley:10638539:media:jcd21507:jcd21507-math-0012 types.
