| Abstract: | Treatment of α-halogenated carbonyl or cyano compounds with hexamethyldisilane in the presence of catalytic amounts of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)-palladium gives the corresponding parent carbonyl or cyano compounds in excellent yields via oxy-π-allyl(trimethylsilyl)palladium intermediates. |
