Characteristics of the radiation pulses of very-high-pressure mercury capillary lamps

Abstract:A new mode of operation of high-pressure mercury capillary lamps was proposed in 1], in which the high-power light pulse is generated by sending a current pulse through a continuously burning lamp. This mode of operation, which we have called the mixed mode, was then investigated in 2, 3] and was used to pump ruby lasers 4] and dye lasers 5, 6].
