Linear effect of doubling of the laser pulse repetition rate in the laue geometry of bragg diffraction in a photonic crystal

Abstract:It has been theoretically shown that, during Bragg diffraction of a picosecond laser pulse in the Laue geometry in a linear photonic crystal, the pulse, entering the crystal structure, may be split into two transmitted and two diffracted pulses. The time interval between these pulses can be controlled by varying the crystal thickness and the modulation depth of the refractive index.
