Source of dislocations in the field of discrete stoppers

The formation of a dislocation loop by the Frank-Read mechanism in an obstacle field is simulated on a computer in the approximation of constant linear tension. The dependence of the loop formation time on the voltage, the source length, and the temperature are studied. It is shown that the bending time of a dislocation segment to the critical configuration makes the main contribution to the loop formation time.
