Kinetics of the Interaction of O2 with Mo(V) Oxo Complexes on Silica Gel in Outer-Sphere Electron Transfer

Abstract:The kinetics of the interaction of Mo5+ oxo complexes on SiO2 with dioxygen distributed among the gas phase, silica gel, and complexes was examined using the relationship between the reaction rate constants ke and rate constant for substrate consumption km in a closed reactor. The kinetic criteria are given for selection of the mechanism for the photochemical and thermal reactions with a collisional or equilibrium intermediate.
