Abstract:The thermodynamic properties of hypercrosslinked resins AM-1 and macroporous adsorbent Amberlite XAD-4 in adsorption of aniline and 4-nitroaniline in aqueous solution have been studied under the static conditions. The results show that the adsorptions of aniline and 4-nitroaniline in dilute aqueous solution on the two adsorbents are both fit for Langmuir and Freundlich equations and the adsorptions of aniline and 4-nitroaniline on AM-1 are an endothermic process and considerable increase of temperature is in favor of the absorption. The thermodynamic calculations and the adsorption isotherms obtained at different temperature reveal the existence of chemical adsorption in the adsorption processes of AM-1 resin for two chemicals studied.
