A new design for an integrated optical isolator

We propose a new isolator structure for MT modes using the non-reciprocal phase shift of an asymmetric magnetooptic waveguide. The new design does not require phase matching between a magnetooptic and an anisotropic material. The required waveguide length, however, is larger than in previously suggested designs.
