| Abstract: | The superposition model is used to obtain a new identification of the 5d levels in Ce3+: YPO4, resulting in a revised parametrization of the 5d crystal field. Electrostatic and pseudo-potential models are employed to relate these parameters to those obtained from 4f crystal field splittings. |
