Abstract: | Single pulses from a mode-locked Nd laser are frequency tripled in a cascade process to provide a 3547 Å probe for holographic interferometry of laser-produced plasmas. Overall energy conversion in excess of 30% and directly measured pulse shortening of 24% are reported for KDP crystals with an incident intensity of 109 W/cm2. |
