Abstract:A novel sample pretreatment method based on the vaporization of oil and the oxidization of oil residue was developed for the determination of metal contents in oil samples by ICP/AES. The results of the metal contents in oil samples obtained by the proposed method agreed quite well with those obtained by the conventional dry ashing pretreatment method. The proposed method is rapid, easy to operate and less environmental pollution.
